The Broadway transfer opened at Studio 54 on November 13, 2025, following previews that began October 30, and concluded as a limited engagement on February 8, 2026. The revival earned seven Tony nominations total, including Best Revival of a Play, though Manville’s individual win was the production’s sole Tony of the night.

A Modern Take on an Ancient Story

Icke’s staging reimagines Sophocles’ tragedy as a modern political thriller set on election night, with all signs pointing to a landslide victory before everything unravels. The concept — originally staged in Dutch at Internationaal Theater Amsterdam before its Edinburgh International Festival run and eventual West End transfer — brought Icke’s full London creative team to Broadway, including scenic designer Hildegard Bechtler, costume designer Wojciech Dziedzic, and lighting designer Natasha Chivers.
